Tommy Hilfiger Diaper Bags come in five styles and each and every style features the well-known, world-renowned Tommy Hilfiger red, white and blue logo. ( I don’t know why but that always makes me think of sailing and yachts!!)

With materials that are both sturdy and light weight, Tommy Hilfiger Diaper Bags are easy to carry, yet hold all those items you simply must have with you when you go out with your new baby.

I first came across Tommy Hilfiger Diaper bags when a friend of mine had a daughter. One of the presents she got on her “leaving” party from work was one of the Tommy Hilfiger Diaper bags. It looked really neat and she certainly seemed chuffed to pieces to have been given it.

All the bags are made primarily of microfibre nylon material which is easy to keep clean, sturdy, and light weight. Most bags come in the famous Tommy Hilfiger navy blue, but one is featured in black on black and another comes in black or red with matching gingham accents.

The Tommy Hilfiger Diaper Bags are all made so that carrying them along with baby will not be a chore. They are compact in size, yet provide the space you need both inside and out with pockets and pouches to hold items you need in an organized manner. Most come with matching diaper changing mat made of the same easy to clean microfibre material. Somehow, you jst know that easy to clean is going to be really important!!

Primarily black microfibre inside and out, there is leatherette trim on the bottom corners of the outside making the bag stand upright, and detail leatherette at the attachment points of both straps. Measuring 14 inches wide and 11 inches tall, with lots of pockets, and a matching changing pad, this is a wonderful stylish bag for all occasions.

New parents find going out with baby challenging because besides dealing with the baby’s schedule (napping and eating and pooping), it seems like you need to take a mini-nursery out with you whenever venturing out with baby. Why is going out with baby necessary? Because staying home with baby will give everybody cabin fever.

What you must never leave the house with when stepping out with baby is a diaper bag.

This is a bag that you use for the specific purpose of changing baby when you’re out and about. Think about it. A-ha! Yes, you do see the importance of a diaper bag, don’t you?

Luckily for us, the diaper industry has made innovations the likes of which I don’t think we’ve seen in many other places. Likewise, so have diaper bag makers. Diaper bags today usually have different compartments to help you with all your different diapering supplies.

But what are you going to do? How will you get by with carrying a diaper bag next to your newly svelte body?

Not to worry!

Just about all of your favorite handbag designers have gotten the baby bug themselves. You have oodles of diaper bags to choose from, usually in a maintenance free fabric. Here are two of my designer favorites:

Kate Spade Baby Bags. They come in either tote or messenger style in nylon (majority) or cotton (some). They retail at $126 to $295.

Vera Bradley Baby Bag. This adorable bag comes in all of the classic Vera Bradley prints that will make you smile every time you pick one up. This bag has enough pockets for all of baby’s bottles and paci’s. They retail at $88.00.

You’re not limited to bags designed as diaper bags if you find something else you like either.

If you see another bag that you just love, look into the possibilities. I’ve seen tote bags, messenger bags, and backpacks all used successfully as diaper bags.

You may want to contact the handbag manufacturer or do a search on the net; chances are they make a diaper bag as well so you may not have to compromise your new diaper bag needs. Many astute parents will have more than one diaper bag: one smaller one for quick trips or errands and another larger one for longer trips or multiple errands days.

What do you end up packing in your diaper bag? For starters, diapers! Ha, ha! No really, you’ll need diapers, plus a small baby blanket or thin towel to change baby on. Bring a small pack of wipes, some diaper rash cream (just in case), plus some hand sanitizer for you.

Make sure you always have at least one extra set of clean clothes in a bag that you can use for any soiled clothes should baby have an “accident” when you’re out (and after a bot and a girl of my own I know babies are notorious for that sort of thing).

I don’t need to tell you that a fashionable designer baby bag stocked full of baby supplies and yummy treats would make a great gift for a newly expecting parent! But which one to choose? You have more than one pregnant friend, don’t you?

Laugh not - go on, we dare you.

We recently had a little huddle and a discussion on what can we do to really make Handbagista stand out more as a site, what could we do that would make us different to all the other sites about handbags that are out there in web world.

After the usual hilarious ( and potentially illegal) options were discussed over a mildly steaming cup of java we got down to some serious thinking.

One of the ideas thrown up was - why not select a type of bag and feature that, drill down into it, offer up reviews and info on a wide selection of bags from the type - let Handbagista’s really get in-depth knowledge.

Cracking idea we thought. So how do we choose the first “type” to be featured?

Simple - all the different types written on pieces of paper, folded and bunged into a hat. (Actually, into a handbag but that’s what you’d expect here, isn’t it!!) Then draw one at random and off we go.

So - as well as the other reviews and designer backgrounds - we’ll also be running an in-depth look at

Designer Diaper Bags!

Stop snickering.

Although that was our first reaction, to be bluntly honest.

We can’t write about that was the cry. And then we thought - why not. Just because a mulling infant is tossing and turning in our arms and trying ever-so hard to projectile lunch onto us - doesn’t mean we have lost any desire to have the finer things in life.

A lot of designers have crafted some gorgeous diaper bags actually - Sally Spicer being a first thought. Lovely, rich colors and styles
